What you need to know before donating eggs
Egg donation in the United States is divided into frozen egg and fresh matching.
Frozen eggs are when US hospitals think that your eggs should be of interest to future intended parents, so they start doing medical examinations to freeze your eggs. When intended parents are interested, they can directly thaw them for IVF, so the intended parents don’t have to wait. Therefore, both the egg donor and the intended parents can proceed immediately without waiting, reducing the risk of waiting.
Fresh matching requires waiting for the intended parents to be willing before starting medical examinations. The amount of egg donation compensation depends on the intended parents’ budget, approximately US$9,000-12,000.
US egg donation examination medical expenses
Basically, the medical examination costs for egg donation in the United States are paid by the egg donation center. However, because many girls in Taiwan change their minds or have other plans to cancel after a series of examinations, causing huge losses to US hospitals, they now require egg donors to pay in advance for 5 examination fees for a period of one to two months (ultrasound, egg quality, genetic testing, chromosome testing, sexually transmitted disease and tobacco, alcohol and drug testing, approximately NT$16,000).
If the examination fails, all fees will be refunded. If it passes, air tickets will be paid and accommodation in the United States will be arranged. If there is no problem with the examination, but you change your mind and cancel temporarily, the examination fee cannot be written off. We cooperate with legally and legitimately operated IVF, surrogacy, and egg donation centers in the United States,and will not charge you any agency fees.The hospital pays for the cost of seeing a doctor, transportation, meals, and accommodation in the United States.
US egg donation schedule
Apply for a visa to stay in the United States for 90 days. One egg donation stay in the United States is about 14-16 days, after which you can rest for one menstrual cycle and donate again during the next menstruation.
However, during the rest period, the hospital does not pay for accommodation and meals. You can choose to travel freely around the United States or pay US$600 per month for accommodation and live in the nurse’s home arranged by us while waiting for the next cycle.
The US frozen egg process is faster. For those with no US egg donation experience, it is US$8,000, and for those with experience, it is US$9,000. If experienced people are willing to wait a few months for matching, they can get more than US$10,000.
Medical insurance
The hospital will guarantee your medical insurance during the egg donation process
However, if you are infected with the epidemic or get sick in the middle, etc., the extra medical expenses are personal behaviors other than egg donation, and the hospital does not guarantee them.
The hospital does not pay for the quarantine fee for returning to Taiwan!
There is a 3-5 day post-operative follow-up after egg donation in the United States. If you feel uncomfortable after the surgery, the hospital may prescribe medicine to relieve you, such as dizziness.
Basically, American doctors are very careful with medication and will make sure that there are no problems with your post-operative observation before letting you return to Taiwan.
The probability of physical discomfort after surgery is very low and will not affect future fertility
