Egg Donation FAQs for Intended Parents

Once we verify your identity and approve your access, you will be granted entry to the donor database. This database includes confidential information such as the donor’s date of birth, graduate school, degrees, diplomas, appearance, videos, genetic reports, and medical records. None of this information is ever shared with third parties. If you require additional details about a donor, you can contact our case management team for support.

Most of our Chinese egg donors come from Taiwan, with others from the U.S., China, and other countries. We arrange local medical screenings for every donor to ensure she is healthy and ready for egg donation.

The egg donation process typically takes 1 to 3 months, depending on the medical screening of the egg donor and the sperm partner. Here is a breakdown of the timeline:

1. Matching (Variable)

Once approved, the donor is matched with the recipient or selected by the intended parents. The matching timeline varies depending on the program and the recipient’s needs.

2. Medical Screening (1–4 Weeks)

Screening involves medical, psychological, and genetic tests, which may take several weeks to complete. Choosing an experienced egg donor with existing genetic and egg-retrieval reports can help speed up this process.

3. Ovarian Stimulation (2–4 Weeks)

Baseline tests confirm the donor is ready to begin ovarian stimulation.

The donor self-administers hormone medications for approximately 10–14 days

to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs, and visits the clinic every few days for blood tests and ultrasounds to track progress.

4. Egg Retrieval (1 Day)

Egg retrieval is a minor surgical procedure performed under sedation. It typically takes about 20–30 minutes, and the donor usually needs one to two days for full recovery.

5. Follow-Up (1–2 Weeks)

The donor may have follow-up appointments to ensure proper recovery after the egg retrieval.

Although the voluntary donation phase (hormone stimulation and recovery) takes about a month, the entire process from application to completion may take 2 to 3 months.

We work closely with intended parents, splitting payments into three stages to ease your financial burden, with fees charged according to the egg donor’s progress.
